How can I get involved?
There are many ways in which you can get involved in the life and work of the Mission and the DPC.
Volunteering at the DPC
We are always in need of volunteers to help run our sevices to the community, indeed without such help it would be impossible to offer our weekly programme. We are more than happy to pay expected travelling expenses incurred if you volunteer and it is good if volunteers can give a regular day, or more of course, each week. Volunteering can help you to give something back to the community, and also give you valuable experience.ak

Our Needs
Monday Club needs volunteers to:
Care for and befriend members
Make tea for, play games with, and take part in craft activities with members
Escort members on their minbus journeys to and from the club
Occasional drivers to help with minibus journies in emergencies
Occasional musician to lead a singing or drama
break
DPC Day Centre needs volunteers to:
Care for and befriend members
Make tea and coffee for members
Help with shopping for members
Kitchen assistants to prepare and serve meals, clear tables and wash up
Escort members on minbuses to and from club
Wheelchair pushers for occasional outings to shops, seaside etc.
Occasional drivers for minibuses to cover holidays
Occasional entertainer to sing, play musical instruments orto lead craft sessions

'The Well' Charity Shop needs volunteers to:
Sort and iron donated clothes
Sort and display books and bric-a-brac
Serve at the till
Keep the shop clean and tidy
Chat to customers

We are always grateful for any donations that will help us to keep our Day Centre running. If you would like to donate through Just giving (a fast and secure way to make payments) then please click the button below.
In addition, to ensure the smooth running of these services we need volunteers to help us fund raise for the charity.
